Scope and Contents
Rev. Kwok founded the Hong Kong Christian Institute 香港基督徒學會 (HKCI) and served as the Director after he had resigned from the Hong Kong Christian Council in 1988. The Institute is a non-governmental organization campaigning for human rights and freedom in Hong Kong. HKCI Annual Reports are included in folder 8-1 while folders 8-2 and 8-3 contain documents on the formation and working plans of HKCI, Director’s reports, as well as succession plan and farewell arrangement for Rev. Kwok’s retirement in 1999. Rev. Kwok was the editor of HKCI bimonthly theological journal entitled Reflection for many years. This journal also covers topics on Christianity in relation to politics and society (folders 9-2 to 10-1). He also contributed some articles to the HKCI Newsletter (folders 8-4 to 9-1). His writings in these two publications (folders 8-4 to 10-1) covered various topics such as human rights, democracy, social and political issues in Hong Kong.
