Direct election, 1991 爭取九一直選: Clippings, correspondence & manuscripts, 1985 - 1990
File — Box: 10, Folder: 4
Scope and Contents
After the British and Chinese governments signed the Sino-British Agreement in 1984, there was growing concern about brain drains and direct elections. In April 1989, a British Foreign Affairs Committee visited Hong Kong to study the situation and gather opinions from the Hong Kong people. Clippings reporting the Committee’s visit and correspondence lobbying the British MPs in this folder reflect different concerns of the Hong Kong people.
