The letter was sent from Tai Hu or Lake Tai (太湖), Jiangsu Province in China. It mentioned the challenges caused by constant disturbances of the bandits two years ago and two Knowles Bible Training School (諾立神道女校) graduates would join the service.

In the Year Book of 1930, it is said that Tai Hu was looted. Therefore, it is possible that the letter is written around 1932.
