The letter was sent from Guling (Kuling, 牯岭), Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province in China. It is signed by Mabel A. Woodruff addressed to 'My very dear Standard Bearers and young women'. It shared the song stone cutter sang while carrying stone uphill. The song is written by Gertrude M. Cone and the lyrics was written by Woodruff's sister Frances E. Woodruff who was also appointed by Woman's Foreign Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church and... sailed to China in 1919.
