Scope and Contents

This folder contains correspondence related to various topics, including government financial assistance for the Education Department, the assessment and improvement of courses offered by HKBC, discussions on salary scales and job prospects for HKBC graduates in the teaching field, the renaming of HKBC, the establishment of the Civil Engineering Department, the proposed increase in tuition fees, and the appointment of Lam Chi Fung as President.

The correspondence dated between December 29, 1971 and April 13, 1972 documents the change of the Chinese name of the College from 書院 to 學院. The letter also provides the reasoning behind this change, which was made in order for the name of the College in Chinese to be 香港浸會學院.
