Basic Studies and International Baccalaureate Programme, 1970-1985, undated

This series contains folders related to the sixth form education provided by Hong Kong Baptist College (HKBC), including the Basic Studies and the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. The records cover a variety of topics, such as the review of the Basic Studies Programme, the closure of HKBC’s Basic Studies Section, and the rearrangement of staff and lay-offs incurred.

There are also documents related to the International Baccalaureate Office (IBO) validation of HKBC’s programmes, the College’s registration with IBO, its withdrawal from the IB programme as well as letters about the review of sixth-form education in Hong Kong.

One folder contains records related to the IB exhibition organized by HKBC at the MTR Station, including correspondence, memoranda, meeting minutes, and leaflets. It also includes "A Report on the Review of the International Baccalaureate Programme at Hong Kong Baptist College". These documents are Mrs. Karin Chan's copy, who was a member of the IB Programme Working Party that was delegated to work in the sub-committee responsible for publicity.
