This folder mainly contains correspondence and memoranda about the Civil Engineering Department’s policy, programs, activities, staffing, budget request, etc.; the validation of the department courses by organizations, such as the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Engineers Registration Board; the closure of the Civil Engineering Department, and staff rearrangement and layoffs incurred.

Also in this folder are meeting minutes of the Civil Engineering Advisory Committee. It also contains the report as the external examiner on Civil Engineering by Prof. R. H. Evans of University of Leeds after his visit, and by Peter C.G. Isaac, Professor of Civil & Public Health Engineering, University of Newcastle upon Tyne.
